Old Adobe Elementary School Banking Day - Piggy Bank Club
Sponsored by Exchange Bank and supported by the PTO, the purpose
of the Old Adobe Elementary School Banking Day is to provide an opportunity for students to have their own bank account, set their own financial goals,
and control their funds while participating in the banking experience.
Students in grades 1-6 can bring their money to school on the 3rd Friday of each month (except December) to deposit
money into their bank account. Students in Grades 5 and 6 have the opportunity of being “Student Tellers” who work side-by-side with a parent
volunteer to accept and record the deposit transaction as well as balance their drawer at the end of the banking session.
Students can bring up to $10 in cash or a check for any amount on Banking Day. The funds are sent to Exchange Bank
via a bonded courier service. The School Bank is located in the Multi-Purpose Room and is open during lunch recess. The ability to participate in this
hands-on activity helps to complement and strengthen the curriculum presented in each classroom.
