| Welcome to the 2006 - 2007 School Year at Old Adobe Elementary! |
Old Adobe Elementary School is one of five schools in the Old Adobe Union School District. Located in a rural part of the City of Petaluma one hour north of San Francisco and surrounded by farmlands and wineries, Old Adobe boasts a small, close-knit community allowing students, teachers and parents to work in a positive, thriving environment.
Built in 1955, Old Adobe began with only three classrooms. In 1956 - 57, it housed only third grade. By 1957-58, additional buildings were constructed and 180 students were in attendance. In 1998, Old Adobe was modernized with air-conditioning, new paint and carpeting. In 2003-04, a new wing, housing the library and three new classrooms, was added to accommodate 275 students. A support staff of seven and fourteen credentialed teachers completes our school roster. What a change since our humble beginnings in 1955!
